PADS Homeless Shelter
What is PADS?
The PADS Shelter Program operates through JOURNEYS | The Road Home in partnership with area faith communities to provide overnight shelter to those in need. Our church is a shelter on Thursday nights through PADS season, which runs through the cold-weather months, November 1–April 30 each year. Churches take one night per week and open their doors to pre-qualified Journeys clients to provide a safe place to sleep, a warm dinner, and breakfast.
How can you get involved?

Who qualifies to stay in the shelter?
In order to stay as a guest in the shelter, individuals must register and complete intake paperwork with JOURNEYS. As part of the intake process, case managers do background checks on each client, assess their needs, and identify which programs they qualify for. Qualified clients are issued a PADS photo identification card to gain access to an available site on the nights they are awarded a slot. Churches receive a list of qualified clients so they know who to expect at the shelter on their assigned night.
