Worship

"I never planned to play worship music for the church. It was an unexpected blessing.

I’ve always had a passion for guitar—ever since I started playing in seventh grade. But I didn’t really realize playing electric guitar in church was a possibility until, as an adult, I started going to a church with live worship music instead of an organ and hymnals. Over time, my desire to play in church grew. And after suggestions, nudges, and urging from family and friends, I decided to go for it. I’m glad I did.

Out of any time in my life, I feel the Holy Spirit most when I’m playing worship music. I can feel the spirit alive in me, and that feeling is even more powerful when I see how the music moves people at church. When I look out and see people lifting their hands in worship, I often have to hold back tears. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to use my gifts in a way that brings glory and praise to God."
